Local ICE candidates or mDNS names
Temporary candidate gathering
RTCPeerConnection; no external STUN service
Runs on your device; no tool-result upload
Host candidates often use mDNS names instead of private addresses. This test does not use an external STUN service, so it cannot determine your public WebRTC address or prove VPN leak protection.
The check uses no external STUN server. It can show host candidates, but cannot compare a public server-reflexive address against a VPN exit address.
A temporary peer connection gathers candidates without an external STUN server. They may expose private addresses or mDNS names depending on browser privacy controls. This cannot compare a public server-reflexive WebRTC address with a VPN address. Gathering stops and the connection closes after the check.
Restricted browsers may expose only mDNS names or no candidates. Missing addresses are not automatically proof of a fault.
Compare these candidates with your browser privacy settings. A missing address may simply mean candidate gathering is restricted.
No. This limited local-candidate check cannot certify VPN protection across all browser and network paths.
Start candidate gathering to inspect the ICE addresses exposed by this browser. Gathering stops automatically.
No. Open the interactive tool above in a modern browser. The instructions and explanations are available even with JavaScript disabled; running a test needs JavaScript.
Power settings, background tasks, browser scheduling, operating-system input processing and device settings affect measurements. Compare repeated attempts with identical settings rather than the single highest score.
